because i am at the core a cold and heartless bastard, born on the wrong side of the tracks, i have decided to share with you more gentle folk this astounding Jerry show segment, a 25 minute jazzy, groovy, bass-thumping After Midnight > Eleanor Rigby Jam > After Midnight; Jerry Garcia Band @ The Stone, 1980-02-02:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/091f1c/

the sound is full & clear & crisp & wild with unexpected delights ... let it shine on!

Thank you my man. I now have a date to put to this gig. A guy taped a few Jerry shows way back when and threw this segment on as filler. he labeled it Washington 1980. I now know the truth.

By the way....amazing

damn, i don't even remember anything about an Iowa show, lol! but thanks man, and you know me, never any hurry at all, ever.

didn't know 2/2/80 was a commercial release, however, this is not an extraction from the commercial release, the lineage is:

SBD > ? > CASSETTE > Nak CR3A > Sound Forge > WAV > FLAC

OMG--an inside joke...you might have gathered that "we" are all doing well here, and "2" told us how he posted as others a while ago (use uppercase "i" instead of an "l" and it works...so, it would have worked for you, others with an "l" etc).

Anyway, Ashes has been covering for you, and it has been fucking hilarious around here of late...

Good to see you!

Will

Arbuthnot: The only excuse is "no excuse." May I suggest also that those interested in your download, proceed a bit further south on that page -- past the "Free Download" sign to see "Eleanor Rigby" herself(?) ...sucking on a lollipop. A unique manner in which to prepare for one's wedding. Or not. See attached.

--- AshesRising

[The Jerry album with this trifecta is from later in the month, "After Midnight: Keane College, 2/28/80," complete with a nice booklet written by Hunter. Jerry invited him to open for him and play the almighty "Promontory Rider" during Jerry's set as well.}

That booklet is great - in it Hunter talks about how Dylan considered Jerry the best interpreter of his works.

bluedevil: ..ya know, I just checked and it is a total of twelve pages, including the pictures and front-and-back cover. 5 pages of text. I am going to figure out the best way to get it copied. I'm sure somebody here can help me figure out how to post it after I get it copied. [needless to say, the picture of Hunter is my favorite -- eyes closed, black-leather vest over a white t-shirt, one fist on his hip.......and knowing how he must have felt hearing Jerry in the background ripping through "Promontory Rider."]

That's Eleanor Rigby? Somehow I had always pictured some wrinkled fossil of an old crow. How wrong we can be. But if that's Eleanor, then I really want to see a picture of dear Prudence.
